What is a VC analyst?

The venture capital (VC) analyst is responsible for performing financial analysis of potential venture capital investments and making recommendations to the venture capitalists. When assessing a venture capital investment, the analyst will look at a number of different factors. Some of the key considerations include:

  • The potential market size for the product or service
  • The competitive landscape
  • The team behind the venture
  • The business model
  • The financial projections

They must be able to understand a wide range of businesses and have a strong financial background. The venture capital analyst also assists in the due diligence process, which is the process of evaluating a company before investing in it.
