What is a VC principal?
The venture capital (VC) principal is responsible for the management and oversight of the venture capital fund. This includes making investment decisions, monitoring portfolio companies and working with venture capitalists in order to source new deals. In addition, the VC principal is also responsible for creating and managing the venture fund’s business plan, as well as meeting with limited partners to discuss their interests and concerns.
To become a venture capital principal, you will need to have extensive experience in the venture capital industry. This includes experience with venture investing, portfolio management and business development. In addition, you will also need to have a strong financial background, including experience in investment banking or private equity.
