VC Analyst @ Donovan Capital Group in Washington DC

Donovan Capital Group (DCG) has two Analysts positions open.  DCG invests in businesses that strengthen U.S. national security.  Analysts will have the opportunity to work with the U.S. Department of Defense and Intelligence Community on groundbreaking technology, and with former senior leaders from the Pentagon, CIA, NSA, and others. 


Primary responsibilities include assisting with deal sourcing, screening and reviewing potential investments, building financial models, assisting with executing transactions, and performing other due diligence functions.

This position starts immediately and will continue for at least three months, at which point the analyst will be considered for full time employment as an Associate. Analysts will be expected to work from home during the remainder of the “shelter in place” restrictions, and thereafter at our office in Washington, DC. Analysts will be provided a dedicated work space and e-mail, but must have their own cell phone and laptop.  The position is full-time.  However, we will consider some part-time arrangements for exceptional candidates.  


Preferred candidates will possess excellent analytical abilities as well as a strong interest in business, investing, and finance. Candidates must be highly proficient in Microsoft Office with heavy emphasis on Excel. Candidates must also have excellent interpersonal, communication and writing skills. Most importantly, candidates must be able and willing to hustle, take the initiative, and work independently.  Candidates are required to have an MBA (preferably from a top program) as well as some investment banking and/or private equity experience.  We will consider current MBA students if they have significant prior experience.  

Ideal candidates will also have some government, military, or intelligence experience and/or interest. 


The position is paid based on the deals you work on that ultimately close, which can be relatively lucrative.  More importantly, this position is an excellent opportunity to gain private equity experience as well as successful analysts will be eligible for promotion to full-time Associate. During the program, you will have access to senior professionals and advisors with extensive experience in private equity, investment banking, operations, and working with the military. You will learn about private equity investing, M&A, corporate finance, accounting, legal, operational turnarounds, various industries, networking, etc.
