XRC Labs is an accelerator and venture fund for the next generation of disruptors in the retail technology and consumer goods sectors. Our mission is to invest in and foster companies and products that innovate the face of retail and consumer goods fulfillment in a rapidly changing marketplace using design thinking as a key driving process. Our investments span the entire retail value chain: supply chain, store tech, online tech, analytics, consumer brands, and martech/adtech. We recently launched XRC Fund VIII, are on our 13th cohort, established an Opportunity Fund for follow-on and Seed-Series A investments, and have a dedicated Consumer Fund.

We’re looking for a Partner to lead our Pre-Seed Accelerator Fund. Partner hires are tough, and often take months of getting to know each other. To ensure a good long-term fit, the role will begin in a Principal and then fast-tracked to a Partner within 6 to 12 months. We expect candidates to have a built-in network of early stage founders and investors, as well a track record of investing.

  • Drive the XRC Labs sourcing, diligence, and selection process
  • Define and lead on-cycle and off-cycle investment process including weekly sourcing meeting, application process, on-cycle evaluation team, Selection Committee Operations, terms negotiation, and on-boarding handover
  • Develop outbound sourcing channels through established relationships with VCs and angel groups, universities, international organizations, conferences and events, and other community partners
  • Work closely with XRC Business Development to understand sponsor key challenges and source relevant startups
  • Diligence and evaluate potential investments by conducting market research, competitive analysis, financial model review, and leveraging expert network
  • Maintain deal flow database and proactively develop process improvements
  • Conduct deep dive research and market maps on thematic topics of interest


  • Support existing XRC Labs portfolio companies
  • Provide updates to XRC Labs and XRC investors on existing portfolio
  • Assist XRC portfolio companies with ongoing needs including business development, financial modeling, operational strategy, and investor introductions
  • Develop relationships with Seed and Series A investors to aid startups with fundraising
  • Own XRC investor database and Investor Day invitation and matching process


  • Assist with day to day operations of XRC Accelerator Fund
  • Own maintenance of investor management system
  • Update and report on current valuations for XRC portfolio companies
  • Assist with preparation of quarterly investor update and other newsletters


  • Build and manage relationships with the broader ecosystem
  • Support building of relationships with brands and retailers to help startups with business development
  • Support building relationships with mentors to leverage for diligence and company advisors
  • Support building of relationships with partners to provide startups with value-added services


  • 2+ years experience in Venture Capital on the investment team or at a VP or C-Suite role at a high-growth early stage start-up or as an active angel investor on 2+ deals
  • 5 – 10 years of professional experience
  • Familiarity with Pre-Seed and Seed stage KPI’s, investment structures (i.e. cap table math, experience/familiarity with early-stage term sheets)
  • Familiarity and network within the startup ecosystem, required


  • Knowledge/Passion/Interest in Retail and Consumer Goods sectors, highly preferred
  • Enthusiastic, motivated, and great at articulating value of XRC offering
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and remain organized
  • Keen eye for evaluating startups with strong analytical and presentation skills
  • Team player who doesn’t hesitate to roll up sleeves and tackle something hands-on
  • Negotiation and public speaking skills, highly preferred
