About:
LDV Capital, based in Manhattan, invests in people building visual technology businesses who leverage technology to solve problems, increase efficiency, and entertain. We work with deep technical teams who are leveraging computer vision, machine learning and artificial intelligence to analyze visual data across the full tech stack. We invest across Europe and North America.
LDV portfolio companies have raised follow-on capital from Sequoia, Union Square Ventures, NEA and other top tier funds.
Our unique LDV platform includes an annual Vision Summit with 600 attendees, monthly Community Dinners with 1,200+ members, annual Insights research reports, and we are building unique software tools to add valuable to our community & portfolio.
You will be responsible for identifying, reviewing and making investment recommendations through detailed research and due diligence. You will work closely with our portfolio companies. You will gain exposure to our large network of entrepreneurs, investors and be a key voice in our investment decision process. Additionally, you will help maintain and develop our global brand, reputation and platform.

We are looking for people who share our enthusiasm for innovation and empowering entrepreneurs in the earliest days of their businesses. We are looking for someone who is intellectually curious, has strong analytical and communication skills and can increase the value of our LDV portfolio. You should have demonstrated a high level of initiative in prior activities and have at least 2 years of work experience at a startup. Bonus if you have also have experience working in venture capital, angel investing and/or an executive at an early stage startup. Another plus is having technical knowledge in computer vision, artificial intelligence, and/or machine learning.
The Role:

Based in NYC.

Perform market research and due diligence for potential investments, which could entail financial, market research, modeling, or testing products and services.

Meet with entrepreneurs who have started or are planning on starting businesses LDV may be interested in investing in.

Work with LDV portfolio companies, including research projects, competitor analysis, valuation work, and attending board meetings.

Design and execute projects of your own direction that help LDV and/or our portfolio companies.

Identify, research and report on new visual tech markets and trends.

Help organize and attend industry events representing LDV.

Reporting to our investors, which includes writing quarterly updates, and packaging the material for our investors.
The Requirements:

2+ years entrepreneurial and operating experience.

Deep understanding of the technology ecosystem(bonus – deep knowledge of visual tech).

A genuine passion for technology and startups, an entrepreneurial mindset and a desire to learn.

Strong diligence skills. Ability to quickly evaluate the key questions, risks or upside to an opportunity, prioritize and execute diligence to flesh out these issues.

You can understand and talk credibly about visual tech innovations with entrepreneurs and investors.

Strong analytical skills. You will be able to dive quickly into a business plan or financial model, identify and judge key drivers or vulnerabilities.

Adept communicator with a network of individuals who think highly of you – you’ll be often talking with entrepreneurs and investors on behalf of LDV.

Ability to prioritize and pay attention to detail under time pressure.

Driven with a strong ability to self-direct – your work and time is open-ended by nature and you must be able to identify and execute on opportunities to contribute to the team with little, if any, management or direction.

Digital dexterity – comfortable working online tools.

Prior computer vision, machine learning or programming experience is a plus.

Must have the ability to work in the US.
