Job Description
Venture Analysts with the ACME General team work closely with company leadership and clients to:
- develop structures and processes for public sector client venture capital initiatives
- support public sector client venture capital initiative implementation activities
- support public sector client venture capital initiative co-investment relationship management activities
Key Responsibilities
Key responsibilities of a Venture Analyst with the ACME General team include, but are not limited to, the need to:
- analyze, assess, specify, and recommend public sector venture capital model
- support implementation of public sector venture capital initiatives
- support operational activities of public sector client venture capital initiatives
- develop expertise in and support cultivation of relationships with potential co-investors
- develop expertise in and support cultivation of relationships with potential venture-backable start-ups in multiple geographies and technology sectors
Professional Experience/Qualifications/Competencies/Traits
A successful candidate for a Venture Analyst position with the ACME General team will possess most, if not all, of the following attributes:
- bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, preferably in a financial or management field
- financial industry background with preference for experience in fund formation and/or investor relations
- Demonstrated ability to take ownership of an initiative and independently drive that initiative to a successful outcome
- highly process-oriented with excellent analytical and quantitative skills and strong attention to detail
- strong written and oral communication skills with an ability to anticipate client and management needs and to ask well-crafted questions that generate meaningful insights
- the willingness to advocate a viewpoint through active debate while also being self-reflective and receptive to feedback
- a relentless need for intellectual stimulation including a commitment to truth-seeking, a willingness to ask questions, and the intellectual honesty to admit when something is unknown
- an unwavering commitment to the highest standards of honesty and ethical behavior and a willingness to prioritize the needs of the client and team over the self when necessary
- the endurance to sift through detailed and dense information and decipher the actionable data
- a collaborative, team-oriented approach combined with an entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to work autonomously in the absence of constant oversight and direction
- 4 years+ relevant work experience preferred
