Senior VC Associate @ Female Founders Fund in New York City, NY

Female Founders Fund is hiring a senior associate to join the investing team. The senior associate will be a critical part of the team and will have exposure to all aspects of Female Founders Fund’s operations. This is an incredible opportunity to understand how early stage venture capital works from the ground up and be a part of a mission-driven early stage fund

Who we are: Female Founders Fund is an early-stage venture fund investing in technology companies founded by women. Launched in 2014, the fund has built the most recognized brand investing in leading female-led technology companies like Zola, Tala, ELOQUII, Maven Clinic, Co–Star, Winky Lux, Billie and more.

The Role and Responsibilities:

-Support all parts of the investment process, including sourcing, company evaluation, structuring, negotiation, and ongoing portfolio management
-Research and maintain proprietary market intelligence on emerging trends and disruptive innovation
-Develop overall portfolio performance metrics and aggregate data of portfolio companies for accounting and audit reviews
-Create thesis-driven market map analyses identifying incumbents, differentiations and emerging leaders
-Prepare written materials, including due diligence summaries, investment memoranda and portfolio reporting
-Partner with portfolio companies in business development and strategy, financing, recruitment, exit events, and impact acceleration initiatives
-Engage with the founding team to provide new ideas and perspectives that advance the fund’s mission

Requirements:

-3+ years of Venture Capital or direct investing experience preferred, open to Private Equity or Corporate Venture experience as well
-Top-tier MBA graduate or equivalent level of experience
-Demonstrated commitment to Female Founders Fund’s mission of supporting female entrepreneurs
-Strong background in evaluating market structure, competitive dynamics, and company financial performance, and a track record of successfully identifying high growth companies and nurturing their founding teams
-Experience working simultaneously on multiple projects and managing a high-volume of relationships
-Excellent oral, written communication and presentation skills
-Superior work ethic and self-driven with attention to detail and follow-through
-Curious and willing to take on new responsibilities at all levels with enthusiasm

-Confident Humility: You have executive presence paired with a low ego. You are adept at working with a variety of audiences and you aren’t afraid to ask questions and speak your mind in a room full of smart people.

Additional Details: This position is based in Flatiron, NYC (no remote applications, please) and will report to FFF’s Founder.
