Intro
Amboy Street is looking to hire our first full time Analyst to join our team. This role will work alongside the Founding Partners touching all fund workstreams. The Analyst position will be responsible for sourcing, performing due diligence tasks, and providing overall portfolio and fund support. This is a full time position based in Los Angeles.
Primary Responsibilities
Sourcing
- Conduct market mapping to understand companies and innovation in subsets of the Sexual Health and Women’s Health space
- Schedule and lead meetings with prospective startups
- Summarize call notes, enter deals into CRM
- Network with peers in other Venture Capital firms
- Track fundraising schedules of prospective startups
Perform Due Diligence
- Gather information from the target company and industry experts
- Research and speak with existing references and customers of the target company
- Research and speak with potential competitors to the target company
- Research and and speak with technical/business consultants to evaluate the target company’s technology
- Conduct background checks on the current management of the target company
- Perform valuation analysis via modelling
- Prepare internal investment memos
Portfolio Support
- Liaise with Healthy Pleasure Group to manage portfolio value enhancement process
- Join monthly updates with portfolio founders
- Track KPIs of portfolio companies
Content
- Responsible for drafting bi-weekly blog posts
- Lead any and all social media initiatives
Other
- Support event planning initiatives
- Other duties as needed
Desired Qualifications
- Based in or willing to relocate to Los Angeles
- Degree(s) with relevant studies and internships
- 1-3 years of experience in relevant fields, including venture capital, private equity, management consulting, or start-up companies in the Sexual Health or Women’s Health space
- Advanced in G-suites, Microsoft Word and Excel
- Exceptional analytical, writing and communication abilities
- Passion for building a long career in the the Women’s Health and Sexual Health space
- Self-starter, able to initiate projects and work independently
- Strong project management skills
- Comfortable working in fast paced environment
- Experience handling sensitive or confidential information
