An Associate is a junior investing role with responsibilities that include**:
- identifying and soliciting investment opportunities for venture capital and private equity, primarily in the infrastructure technology related industry
- evaluate sector trends and metrics
- perform customer and market research and diligence by conducting industry reviews
- design, develop and implement financial models including valuation analysis, comparable analysis and P/L modeling
- analyze product and underlying technology issues, including emerging standards and architectures, usability, functionality, performance and scalability
- design sophisticated models to analyze investment parameters, protect invested capital, and manage investment opportunity to close of deal
- manage and monitor portfolio companies subsequent to investment including internal reporting on key financial and business performance metrics on a quarterly basis for portfolio companies, being responsive to portfolio company needs (providing analysis on market trends, details on other deals in the market, competitive analyses and insights), and producing financial and commercial analyses to the Board of Directors to assist in the strategic governance of a portfolio company
- Must possess the following skills, qualifications and experience**:
- Minimum 2:1 in a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Economics, Business, a STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) subject or related field from a reputable university, together with a strong academic record
- 2-3 years’ experience at a venture capital, private equity or strategy / management consulting firm
- Experience and fluency in transaction modeling for capital market transactions and software businesses and business metrics (e.g. LTV/CAC, payback ratio etc.).
- Professional experience in financial analysis using various statistical analysis techniques
- Proven ability to perform cohort analysis (including experience with logo/gross/net retention, ACV analysis over time, etc.)
- Rigorous attention to detail and the ability to work under own initiative
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate and influence
- A ‘can do’ attitude with the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
