pi Ventures is an early stage venture capital fund based in Bangalore, India. pi is India’s first and only AI focussed VC fund. We invest in startups leveraging Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Internet of Things and other frontier technologies to solve a large business problem. We are seeking a dynamic individual with 5+ years of relevant work experience within the firm’s target sectors. The Principal level role is a Partner track position. We fully expect this individual, if successful, to move up to Partner in the subsequent fund(s)
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate investment opportunities by conducting a thorough analysis and due diligence; support Partners in the closing of transactions
- Fluent in deal negotiation, management of counsel, review of legal documents and familiarity with standard venture terms and concepts
- Awareness of present state and future trends in all markets of focus
- Develop and implement post investment strategies
- Support the Partners in managing existing investments, monitoring company performance and developing support strategies as required
- Design and evaluate key metrics to measure the financial returns on investments
- Support the Team as needed, which may include preparing internal documents, engaging with Limited Partners
Qualifications And Characteristics
- Prior Experience in a venture fund is highly preferred.
- At least 5 years of relevant work experience required.
- Strong product experience. Having AI background is a big plus
- Startup experience is a must. Having founded a startup is a big plus.
- Candidates must have a clear track record of leadership and involvement with the technology space
- Strong written and oral communication skills are essential, along with the ability to make an impact at senior levels within organisations
- Venture capital is a highly entrepreneurial environment and it is important that this individual is a self-starter who can work independently
- Strong financial and business analysis skills as demonstrated by prior experience
- Engineering or Computer Science or similar degree from a Tier 1 institute is preferable
- Leadership roles in Sports or other extracurricular activities is a plus
