Founded in March 2011, German Media Pool is Germany’s leading independent media for equity fund combining television, out of home, print and radio. We have invested more than 150 million Euro in gross media volume in more than 50 investment rounds into 26 startups. We currently count 12 successful exits and 2 IPOs, with more to come.
JOB DESCRIPTION
We are searching the best Media Venture Capital Intern out there, to complete our team. We are looking for a new team member with hands-on work experience in digital business and venture capital that can join us for at least 6 months. We are a small company with a big vision and offer a flexible and supportive career environment.
You will be a permanent and valuable part of our small team. At German Media Pool, you will learn about venture capital as well as the media industry and actively help us in making new investments as well as support our portfolio companies and manage our large network of partners.
Your tasks include:
- Active deal sourcing
- Industry analysis and support in investment decisions
- Support in portfolio management
- Communication with and management of our pan-European media partner network
- Networking and representing GMPVC at events and conferences
You will be fully enabled by us to deep dive into these exciting areas, work independently and develop your talents. We, in turn, are looking for someone who can fight for success, never gives up and loves to network.
REQUIREMENTS
The Venture Capital Intern position requires top-tier university education as well as first work experience in VC, investment banking, consulting or digital marketing. You have started your own business? Even better!
In order to communicate with our media partners in Germany and abroad you need to be able to speak and write German and English fluently. You will be based in Berlin, and while our core business is in Germany, we are growing and building our network into the startup centers of Europe and the US.
- Are you a numbers guys or a people person? We need both! As a VC intern you need a strong analytical background as well as the ability to work with a wide variety of startup founders, investors and media partners.
- You need to have an insatiable curiosity for technology, future trends and the European startup ecosystem.
- You can to take on responsibility early on and manage your own projects.
- You can effectively work in an independent, structured and goal-oriented manner.
- We are a small team with a lot to do. So, you have to be able to effectively work independently as well as in a team.
