SENIOR INVESTMENT MANAGER
who will work actively on all aspects of early-stage investments, from pipeline building throughout the investment process, followed by monitoring and organizing subsequent financing rounds during the holding period, all the way to the exit.
Responsibilities
- Pipeline building, sourcing and processing new investment opportunities
- Regular participation at VC related events in Hungary and the CEE region
- Working independently on the assessment of investment targets, including market research, team evaluation, risk assessment and technological validation
- Analysing historic financials and the business plan of companies, building flexible and robust valuation models
- Working closely with Day One’s partners in negotiating term sheets
- Preparing and presenting proposals for the investment committee
- Managing the entire transaction process, including due diligence, deal structuring and legal aspects
- Portfolio management, taking an active role in formulating strategies and facilitating follow-on financing rounds
- Development and implementation of monitoring, controlling and reporting systems for portfolio companies and reviewing their financial plans
- Preparing portfolio companies for exits and managing the exit process
Desired experience and qualities
- 5 years’ experience in venture capital, private equity, consulting or investment banking
- University degree in business or economics, finance/accounting is a plus
- Outstanding communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Firm knowledge in financial modelling and corporate valuation
- Experience in the management of small ventures and being familiar with the international start-up ecosystem are considered an advantage
- Fluency in English
