Volta Ventures, a leading Benelux seed & early stage venture capital fund for high-growth internet and software companies, is seeking an Associate.
Responsibilities
- Sourcing new investment opportunities in The Netherlands
- Analyzing and evaluating new investment opportunities by conducting due diligence, researching industry sectors, interviewing management and preparing financial models
- Interacting with partners in support of identifying, sourcing and negotiating new investment opportunities
- Managing relevant reporting of the firm’s deal flow and portfolio companies
- Maintaining proper records of investments, outstanding warrants, …
- Collecting data from portfolio companies and creating quarterly fund reports
- Assisting portfolio companies on an as needed basis
- Network and meet with entrepreneurs and attend events
Candidate Requirements
- Master in finance, business, economics, accounting or related degree with an excellent track record
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Fluent in Dutch and English
- Successful track record of delivering results and closing projects quickly
- Experience in working in a fast-paced, high energy, no-frills startup culture
- Analytical, number cruncher
Ideal Personal Attributes
- Loves meeting people & entrepreneurs
- 2-4 years of experience in high-tech sector at startups, incubators, investment banking, VC firm or strategy/management consulting
- A roll up your sleeves, self-starter personality; delivers and gets stuff done
- Demonstrated interest in technology, entrepreneurship and the startup scene
- Team player / collaborative operating style but can work independently
- Unquestioned ethics
Location
- Your place of business will be our offices in the center of Amsterdam, your home office and our portfolio companies throughout the Benelux
