LYFE Capital is a healthcare focused VC fund with more than $700M under management. LYFE Capital US is a Delaware LLC based in Menlo Park CA and is actively looking for an Associate. The Associate position is responsible for providing support to the firm’s partner in all aspects of potential and active investments in biotechnology companies. Our mission is to invest in innovative high impact companies to revolutionize healthcare and save lives. We are looking for a scientist with a Ph. D in biological sciences, who is curious, ambitious and driven with 5-8 years industry experience in therapeutic R&D after post-doc. This is a unique opportunity for the right individual who will be mentored by the partner of LYFE Capital and will be one member of the inaugural team of LYFE Capital US with high growth potential professionally.
The job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Responsibilities:
- Generate high quality deal flow by proactively identifying investment opportunities that fit LYFE’s investment strategy.
- Working with LYFE team and other partner VC teams, manage deal prospects from first conversation through term sheet to deal close, coordinating resources to assess and win the deal
- Lead and coordinate deal analysis, financial modeling, and due diligence
- Post deal management of portfolio companies
- Working with LYFE China team on cross board deals from deal sourcing, DD, to deal closing as an integrated team
Requirements / Qualifications:
- Ph. D in biological sciences is must, MD/Ph.D is a plus
- 5-8 years of industry experience in therapeutic research and development, successfully validated therapeutic targets and delivered clinical development candidates, project leader/management experience a plus
- Depp domain knowledge on therapeutic development process
- Ability to interpret preclinical and clinical data and provide relevant conclusions/recommendations
- Excellent project management and organizational skills
- Ability to articulate ideas in group setting
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with proven ability to develop and maintain effective business partner relationships
- Self-starter with strong work ethic
- Strong desire to work in deal generation/sourcing investment environment
- Strong writing skills
- Ability to interact professionally with company founders and executives
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $200,000.00 to $250,000.00 /year
