Role Summary:
As an integral member of the GE Ventures team, the Associate supports all aspects of investing in healthcare startups for a corporate venture capital fund. This includes deal sourcing, vetting, diligence, and financial modeling. He/she will play a key role in supporting the healthcare investing team and all of the team’s activities.

Essential Responsibilities:
Participate in equity investment process including:

deal sourcing, financial modeling, due diligence, documentation, negotiation, and preparation of investment committee presentations for new and follow-on investments
Support the investment team by co-leading due diligence efforts
Financial analysis of investments, including analysis and projections of returns, comparables, scenario planning, and operating plan analysis
Define and research key areas of healthcare for investment, working closely with GE Healthcare business units to ensure strategic alignment
Develop deep sector expertise in the healthcare industry Attend industry conferences and events to source deals and identify exit opportunities
Partner with portfolio companies to assess and contribute to their go-to-market plans and identify opportunities
Convene startups and GE business units to develop mutually beneficial strategic technology and commercial agreements
Coordinate project plans for collaboration between GE business units and portfolio companies
Assist business units with market and business case analyses to ensure alignment of new opportunities to strategy
At as liaison to key counterparts including but not limited to business unit CEOs, and other executives
Maintain external network of venture capitalists, entrepreneurs and the innovation ecosystem, while cultivating internal network of GE business unit leaders and applicable advisors

Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree
Minimum 5 years of work experience in a healthcare company (device, services, drug, diagnostics, insurance, etc.), or in venture capital, private equity, strategy consulting at top tier firm or investment bank
Understanding of the healthcare venture capital ecosystem
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including: Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook and high proficiency in Excel
Strong project and relationship management skills
Experience with strategic planning and finance
Strong written and verbal communication skills

Desired Characteristics:
MBA preferred
Strong knowledge of healthcare technology trends, regulation, and reimbursement
Domain expertise in healthcare private equity and/or venture capital, strategy and business development
Ability to multitask while maintaining attention to detail
Experience in an operating role in healthcare startups
Deep market expertise in one or several areas of healthcare
Experience leading full due diligence processes of healthcare equity investments
Passion for knowledge, drive for excellence, demonstrated leadership capabilities, well developed executive presence and communication skills
