K3 has made more than 140 investments globally across various sectors, including commerce, consumer, healthcare, travel, telecommunications, energy, agriculture, property, logistics, finance and education.

We are seeking an Investment VP or Associate to be based in KL, Malaysia who has deep expertise and experience in sourcing, investing, managing portfolio and supporting startups and their founders.

Job Description:

• Source, identify and screen new investment opportunities and conducting market, macro and technical research, and presentation views to deal teams and senior management
• Lead, manage and execute the full investment due diligence process, investment/financial analysis and modelling, deal structuring as well as transaction closing processes
• Liaise and manage relationships with external service providers such as consultants, advisors and experts
• Actively build and cultivate relationships and partnerships across the venture ecosystem and early-stage businesses, including participation in industry or networking events
• Spearhead theme development projects and conduct market research into focus industries or themes from time to time
• Develop internal investment-related processes to improve efficiency
• Monitor the progress of portfolio companies and support value creation initiatives, and tracking of portfolio
• Prepare regular investor reports and investment memoranda and materials
• Support fundraising or investor relation matters, when necessary

Job Requirements:

• Based in KL, Malaysia
• At least 3-6 years of experience as an investment professional with a reputable venture capital or private equity
• Interest and passion for technology in various sectors and the startup ecosystem
• Intention to grow with the firm over the long term
• Interest to work in fast-paced environment with high level of autonomy
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to be able to liaise with internal and external stakeholders
• Strong sense of ownership, initiative and resourcefulness
• Exceptional analytical skills and knowledge over wide range of industries (with a focus on technology)
• Excellent project management and time management skills; able to multi-task and work on multiple concurrent transactions and tasks
• Independent, able to work in a lean team and willing to take on a variety of responsibilities
• Excellent written and spoken English
