VC Scout @ VamosVentures in Remote

We are VamosVentures – a venture fund with a mission to invest in companies led by diverse teams. We believe diverse teams, as defined by at least 1 co-founder from an underrepresented background, lead to better returns. Our goal is twofold: (1) deliver market-rate returns, and (2) generate social impact through wealth creation, social mobility, and unique tech solutions.

The Scout Program is meant to be a 3-5 hour per week commitment and not a job. Through this program, we aim to grow the pipeline of the next generation of venture capital investors.  Our goal is to build and highlight the venture careers of individuals by giving them ownership over deals and providing access to resources and training.

As part of this program, we want to bring together successful, motivated, and passionate professionals with an interest in one of our core sectors (Health & Wellness, Future of Work, FinTech, Sustainability) — and who are driven to find and fund exceptional startups. We are looking to expand our pipeline in key cities and each candidate will be aligned to one of five key metro areas: Portland, Chicago, Boston, San Francisco, or Houston/Dallas. What is in it for you?

While this is not a full-time opportunity, as a Scout, you will have the opportunity to build your own track record within venture. You’ll be provided with community and programming to enhance your skills, gain exposure to the VC world, attend team deal meetings, and receive compensation for the deals you source and we invest in.

Scouts will receive initial training on the fund’s investment mandate, criteria, and goals to ensure Scouts are investing their resources in the right places. Scouts will also participate in a multi-week training program focused on the fundamentals of early-stage investing, including:

For attractive investing opportunities, Scouts will work alongside the VamosVentures team to conduct diligence, complete investment memos, and pitch to our investment committee. Moreover, to support with deal flow, Scouts will be encouraged to plan local ecosystem events. At the conclusion of the program, Scouts will have broad latitude in identifying, evaluating, and engaging compelling investment opportunities.
