Zeal Capital Partners is an inclusive investment vehicle focused on narrowing the Wealth, Skills, and Opportunity gaps through its partnerships with exceptional entrepreneurs leading tech-enabled businesses across the Future of Work, Financial Technology, and Health Equity industries. We are looking for a dynamic change agent to join our team as our Health Equity Principal. The ideal candidate is an experienced venture capital investor with a strong track record of engagement and exits across the healthcare industry. This person will assist in sourcing, leading, negotiating, and management of investments. In addition, they will maintain an informed perspective on the venture industry as well as Zeal’s core investment sectors and serve as an external representative of the firm at key conferences and other types of events. This is a full-time position based in Washington, DC and you will report to the Managing Partner.

・Manage and as needed, directly lead, all stages of investment, including deal sourcing, initial screening, market analysis, company/product research, due diligence, deal structuring and negotiation, investment committee presentations

・Maintain deep expertise in the healthcare sector (Access/Affordability, Underserved Disease Areas, Social Determinants, Innovative Digital Care Models) and conduct market analysis that may be shared internally or externally

・Provide proactive strategic and operational support to portfolio companies, founders and boards.

・Assist in establishing Zeal brand in the healthcare/VC ecosystem

・Support quarterly review of portfolio companies

・Represent Zeal at relevant conferences and events

・Lead initiatives as needed, identify opportunities and drive continual improvement in fund operations and step in to support initiatives that need assistance

・Ideally 3+ years in venture capital with direct responsibility for sourcing and leading deals as well as supporting portfolio companies in the healthcare industry

・Dedication to company values and vision

・Operate with a high level of personal integrity and responsibility

・Strong written and verbal communication skills as well as significant experience with financial modeling and due diligence

・Ability to analyze and synthesize key quantitative and qualitative data points

・Strong background in supporting / advising start-ups in strategic, operational and/or organizational planning, decision making and implementation

・Deep understanding of clinical, operational, and financial drivers in healthcare sector (ideal experience with access/affordability, underserved disease areas, social determinants, and innovative digital care models)

・Zeal, excitement, and moonshot ideas around how to innovate venture capital and partner with entrepreneurs delivering novel solutions that address the Wealth,Skills and Opportunity gap across the Financial Technology, Future of Work, and Health Equity categories
