About the job
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the sourcing, evaluation, and execution of early stage (primarily Series A/B) investment opportunities in applied AI across several themes – Engineered Biology, Next-Gen Compute, New Energy, New Materials, Automated Economy
- Conduct thorough market research and due diligence for potential investments, including financial models, analysis and valuation
- Build and maintain strong relationships with entrepreneurs, co-investors, corporates, and other stakeholders in the AI ecosystem
- Work closely with portfolio companies to provide strategic and operational support, leveraging business operating experience
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, with a combination of business operating experience and investment/finance experience
- Proven track record in leading or significantly contributing to successful investments, preferably in early-stage companies
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate complex investment opportunities and make data-driven decisions
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Desired Characteristics:
- Preference for science/technology/engineering/mathematics background and experience (e.g,. BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, EE/CE, BioEngineering/BME, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Mechanical Engineering, Math, Physics)
- Passion for innovation and entrepreneurship
- High level of integrity and a strong work ethic
- Adaptive and open to learning in a rapidly evolving industry
