Role Overview:
Inertia Ventures seeks an experienced VC Principal to join our investment team and focus on sourcing and conducting due diligence on early and growth-stage AI investment opportunities. As a Principal you’ll be a key member of the investment team and work directly with the firm’s Managing Partner.

Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience with at least 2-3 years of direct VC investing experience
- Successful track record of investing, understanding of enterprise B2B market, and a perspective on potential investable market trends; experience identifying and determining opportunities in selected market spaces
- Intellectual curiosity surrounding vertical AI applications
- Deep understanding of the startup ecosystem, networks, and deal sourcing and investment processes, particularly for new technology companies
- Advanced financial modeling and valuation skills
- Strong relationship building and interpersonal skills
- Highly disciplined self-starter who thrives in an entrepreneurial environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Source new investment opportunities in early-stage AI companies, leveraging your existing network and engaging with entrepreneurs
- Quickly assess viability of investment opportunities and prioritize for further diligence
- Lead diligence processes; develop investment theses and make recommendations to our investment committee
- Exercise strong judgment in evaluating market potential, product-market fit, long-term growth potential
- Support portfolio companies by attending board meetings, advising senior management, conducting research and recruiting, and assisting with financing and acquisition activities
- Author market research and opinion pieces on the topic of AI to further develop subject matter expertise and credibility
- Support portfolio companies on key issues and drive reporting of KPIs
