Seeking a Venture Manager to help support a cohort of startups with their business challenges within the Deep Tech Center of HEC Paris Innovation & Entrepreneurship Institute.
Your primary role will involve working in collaboration with the venture managers team to support startups through regular touchpoints, leveraging mentors, and preparing founders for working sessions.

The Creative Destruction Lab (CDL) is a unique program for international massively-scalable, seed-stage science-based technology startups, partnering with 13 universities across Europe, North-America, and Australia.
The program’s mentors are successful entrepreneurs and equity investors with years of experience in building and scaling technology-oriented companies.
The program has created more than $28B in equity value, targeting ventures that have the potential to transform our social, industrial, and economic landscape.
The CDL-Paris is a joint program of HEC Paris and Creative Destruction Lab, currently supporting technical founders from all over the world on three different streams: Climate entrepreneurship, Space entrepreneurship, Artificial Intelligence, and Next-Gen Computing (with more to come!).
The goal of the Next-Generation Computing stream is to facilitate commercial applications of projects focusing on latest technologies with the potential to increase computing performance and decrease energy and resources demand, such as Quantum, Photonics, Neuromorphic computing, etc.
Role and responsibilities
Working alongside the Venture Managers team, the Venture Manager will primarily support CDL-Paris venture recruitment for the 2024/25 cohort, including rolling out and managing recruitment infrastructure and identifying viable CDL venture applicants.
CDL prides itself on its world-class venture scouting and recruitment, and its ability to detect technologies with the potential to change the world massively.
Venture identification and qualification are therefore some of the most strategic aspects of our program.
General duties:
Ventures Recruitment & Selection:
- Execution of outreach strategy for the recruitment of startup cohorts;
- Build a pipeline of startup prospects and works within our system to monitor and convert leads to applications;
- Assess fit for early-stage science and engineering-based ventures that apply for the CDL program;
- Interview companies and recommend program acceptance.
Ecosystem Building:
- Identification and relationship building with centers of innovation in the local ecosystem; including Universities, venture capital funds, incubators & accelerators, and tech associations to build a strong pipeline of CDL venture applicants;
- Attend startup events, conferences, and meetups relevant to the various programs of CDL-Paris.
Venture management:
- Founders relationship: provide business development support to a group of ventures, and nurture program alumni;
- Stakeholders relationship: acts as a coordinator between ventures, advisors, scientists, and students.
Profile
- Scientific, technological, or engineering background;
- Strong analytical ability and understanding of technologies and applications over several fields;
- Passionate about creative applications of emerging technologies;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English;
- Intermediate level in French
- Work experience working with startups, technology companies, or venture capital is an asset;
- Experience with Airtable and Salesforce is an asset;
- Comfortable in working in a very international environment.
