Who We Are Looking For
We are seeking an Investment Manager with a strong STEM background to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in identifying, evaluating and managing investments in cutting-edge tech startups. This position offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of venture capital, innovation and frontier technologies, directly contributing to Canova’s growth and impact.
Your role
Analysis of investment target technologies
- Conducting in-depth research on market trends and emerging technologies.
- Scouting and evaluation of startups with high growth potential, particularly in sectors related to STEM disciplines.
- Management of the technological due diligence process
Portfolio Management
- Monitoring portfolio companies, providing strategic guidance and identifying opportunities for follow-on investments.
- Partnering with startup teams to drive growth and achieve key milestones.
- Building and maintaining relationships with founders, co-investors and industry stakeholders.
Engagement in the Ecosystem
- Represent Canova SGR at industry events, pitch sessions and networking meetings.
- Build trusted relationships with business partners, promoting the adoption of innovative technologies.
Experience and Qualifications Required
Academic Training:
- Master’s or Master’s degree in a STEM discipline (e.g. Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science) or related field. Candidates with degrees in economics will also be considered if they demonstrate significant experience in technology contexts.
Professional Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience in STEM-related fields.
- Plus: Proven track record of working with startups, venture capital, innovation projects or investment processes in technology-intensive sectors.
Technical Knowledge:
- Familiarity with key technology trends and emerging markets such as Artificial Intelligence, Renewable Energy, Deep Tech and Industry 4.0.
Languages:
- Fluent in Italian and English
