VC Investor @ Reformation Partners in Miami, FL

Reformation Partners

Reformation Partners

Reformation Partners is an early growth equity firm. The firm invests across the US in fast-growing, bootstrapped enterprise and consumer companies at their point of breakout ($500k – $5M of annualized revenue) and supports their growth through profitability, future financing, and exit. The firm was founded in 2019 by experienced investors from FirstMark and Insight Partners and has raised over $100M in capital from premier institutional and strategic LPs.

Role & Responsibilities

Reformation Partners is adding a new member to our Investment Team to help the firm identify and evaluate exceptional investment opportunities that fit within the firm’s thesis. You will learn the full craft of growth investing. This will include sourcing new investment opportunities, conducting due diligence on target companies, shepherding prospective investments through the investment process, and post-investment portfolio company support.

We believe the most impactful skill a new investor can learn is deal sourcing and origination. As a result, your primary focus will be sourcing new investment opportunities. This will entail:

  • Identifying new and relevant investment opportunities via proven channels (SourceScrub, LinkedIn, Crunchbase, etc.), as well as self-directed sourcing methodologies;

  • Researching sectors and creating market maps to highlight potential investment areas and specific target companies within those areas;

  • Attending industry conferences and events to identify sectors and companies of interest;

  • Reaching out and engaging with target companies to assess thesis fit;

  • Synthesizing company data and insights and pitching investments internally; and

  • Building professional networks and long-term relationships with founders, co-investors, and industry experts.

This is a 2-3 year program and we expect graduates from this role to have several exit opportunities, including roles at other growth equity, private equity, and venture capital firms; startups; launching your own business; and / or business school. In addition, there may be opportunities for exceptional performers to stay on and grow with the firm.

Qualifications for the Role

  • Analytical Background: 1-3 years of analytical work experience, particularly in consulting, investment banking, venture capital, growth equity, or private equity.

  • Strong Work Ethic: You set an exceptionally high bar for your work product and are relentless in getting the job done.

  • Self-motivated: You thrive in a small team structure with high autonomy. You are creative in figuring out solutions, and know when to ask for help.

  • Outgoing: Affinity for going outbound to meet new people and find new opportunities.

  • Innate Curiosity: You’re an early adopter and the type of person who browses the tech press daily to identify the latest software trends and launches.

  • Strong Communicator: You can articulate an idea, narrative, and opinion in a compelling manner and work collaboratively to build consensus.

  • Optimist: You have the mindset that the next person or company you meet could produce your career-defining deal.
