Pebblebed was founded by Keith Adams, Pamela Vagata, and Tammie Siew. Keith and Pamela are operators with deep experience building systems at scale — Pamela was a founding member of OpenAI and later led AI at Stripe, while Keith shaped technical architecture at VMware, founded Facebook AI Research, and later served as Chief Architect at Slack. Tammie is a founder-turned-investor with operational and VC depth, having co-founded Revery and previously worked at Sequoia and BCG. Together, they bring complementary strengths across AI, systems, and venture — and now invest in founders building the next generation of them.

Our portfolio includes Krea (generative design with real-time, editable control), Augment Code (AI pair-engineer for large production codebases), OpenMind (operating system and coordination layer for intelligent robots), Zeromatter (simulation infrastructure for autonomy), and Spectral Labs (spatial intelligence models for CAD-native geometry). Each reflects our first-principles focus: backing founders who aren’t chasing trends, but building the infrastructure that will define the next era of AI systems.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Member of Investing Staff located in San Francisco, CA.

What You’ll Do

• Spot emerging AI-first companies and construct theses around blind spots.
• Work with partners to prioritize scarce resources: which founders, which markets, which signals matter most.
• Represent Pebblebed with founders — building trust in first meetings, surfacing strengths and risks.
• Build sourcing and tracking systems (dashboards, automations, crawlers, AI agents) to make Pebblebed sharper over time.
• Go deep on technologies, papers, and concepts — and teach them back to the team in plain English.
