VC Investor @ Luka Ventures in Amsterdam, Netherlands

Your primary role is to lead our venture finance work, from assessing cleantech potential to supporting our ventures with fundraising and their development towards an exit. As well, you will be involved in the development of BigCircle itself, by collaborating with the CEO on fundraising, investor relations, financial modelling and management. Because we are a startup ourselves, you have many opportunities to build up and shape BigCircle.

Your responsibilities

• Develop and lead (as a working lead) our venture finance capability
• ○     Selection – collaborate with our venture partners and developers to assess the investability and long term potential of cleantech inventions
• ○     Creation – ensure our ventures start off with a solid financing roadmap and that the teams we recruit on the ventures are well onboarded and pitch ready
• ○     Support – help our ventures to realise financing rounds (dilutive and non-dilutive) and be exit ready
• Support fundraising and investor relations for the venture builder and the fund (together raising EUR 20M+ in the coming 3 years) and further shaping our unique investment model and propositions
•  Lead the corporate and financial management of BigCircle, together with our legal counsel and external administrator (note: this is a very limited part of your role)

Requirements

•  Extensive relevant experience, with a track record in top-tier early stage funds, venture builders, startups, or similar
• You have made or attracted multiple early stage deeptech investments (dilutive and non-dilutive)
• You have built consortia for financing rounds of ventures (from SEED up)
• You have an active network amongst relevant early stage financers
•  Expertise and network in relevant cleantech markets (for the moment, our scope excludes the agri, food and nature-based markets)
• Masters degree in either a relevant technical/scientific field or in finance
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills (including complex financial modelling)
• Fluent in English (spoken and written), as we will work all over Europe and beyond
• Based within commuting distance from Amsterdam (or willing to relocate), allowing for regular close collaboration
