The requirements for this role:

• Around 1-2 yrs professional experience within venture capital OR c.4 yrs from a tech-driven start-up/grownup within a product, sales/biz-dev/growth, engineering, or founder/cofounder role OR from a top management consulting or investment banking (PE, M&A, etc.) firm with a shorter stint in VC. Some VC experience is preferred.
• High academic achievement
• Knowledgeable in various business models and a love for company building at high-risk/early stage
• Analytical experience working with numbers and digesting research
• International and multicultural mindset/background

Key responsibilities include:

• Sourcing deals through data-driven methods and via your network, while forming relationships within the UK and European founders and investors community.
• Discovering promising companies and deeply understanding their businesses becoming a subject matter expert in a chosen space.
• Support investment due diligence by analysing data, market research, conducting diligence calls, and investment memos.
• Provide support for our portfolio companies, partnering with them on their company-building journey, including attending board meetings, and advising them on various growth and funding opportunities.
• Represent Cherry in the UK start-up ecosystem and assist in various internal and external events including portfolio days, founders retreats, community dinners, speaking engagements, etc.
• Develop your own investor style, by testing your own initiatives, leveraging your success within Cherry, and actively contributing to growing a world-class early-stage venture capital fund.
