2026 Summer Associate, Impact Investing
Samvid Ventures is seeking two MBA students for a Summer Associate program based in our New York City office. The Summer Associates will report to the Program Director, Social Enterprise. This is a hybrid role, with 3 days a week in our midtown New York City office and up to 2 days working remotely, for 8- 10 weeks.
Samvid Ventures is the impact investing arm of Samvid Philanthropies. We make program-related investments in early-stage startups building technology and business models that advance economic mobility for low- and moderate-income communities.
What You’ll Do
This role offers hands-on experience in market research, sourcing, due diligence, and presenting work and recommendations to our team and leadership. Key competencies include synthesis of data, the ability to develop a coherent point of view, and clear communication of information to stakeholders to enable effective decision-making. Summer Associate candidates are encouraged to consider how the below activities align to their experience, interests, and development goals, and will contribute to determining final role scope.
- Evaluate startup business models on their potential for scale and potential to strengthen low and moderate-income communities.
- Evaluate startup founders’ skills and experience relevant to their target market. • Identify gaps in the ecosystem, particularly in workforce development and benefits access, where founders could focus future ventures.
- Analyze available funding sources for startups, including non-dilutive grants.
- Develop an informed investment thesis for a sub-sector related to economic mobility. Who We’re Looking For

Qualifications
- Current MBA student with demonstrated social impact orientation
- Experience evaluating early-stage investment opportunities and/or early-stage organizations’ areas of development
- Ability to identify information sources, gather and analyze data, and present findings • Detail-oriented and curious, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and prioritize tasks • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with people at all levels in the organization • Prior consulting, investment, and/or research experience is a plus
About the Process
Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, with interviews beginning in March. Please submit applications via this Google Form.
If your resume advances, you will be asked to complete a brief (<15 min) video interview which should be completed within five days of receipt. If you advance after the video interview, the final stage includes a two-hour take-home simulation and a Zoom debrief with a member of our team, followed by reference checks.
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Hours per Week: 40
Duration: 8-10
Compensation: $1,500/week; Candidates are encouraged to apply for financial support from their university, typically available to students employed by 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations, including operating foundations.
