About Monte Carlo Capital (MCC)

Monte Carlo Capital (MCC) is a Seed-stage Venture Capital firm based in Monaco. We invest in Europe, the UK and the US, investing in deep tech and highly disruptive businesses, from AI to robotics, IoT, medical devices, fintech or e-commerce, via a Fund and Special Purpose Vehicles (SPV). We participate as both lead and co-investors and, often do multiple follow-ons in our most successful companies. We are usually very active investors in our portfolio companies.

Our Founder and Managing Partner, Ian Sosso, won an award as the best angel investor in Europe. He is also very involved in the early-stage ecosystem, including as a board member of EBAN, the Brussels-based organisation representing the Angel community in Europe. Ian was until recently an adjunct professor at the University of Monaco where he lectured venture capital to MBA and MSc Finance students.

We are seeking a motivated venture capital intern to join our team and support our investment activities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist Ian and the investment team in carrying out due diligence on start-ups (competitive analysis, market study, etc)
• Conduct market research to broaden MCC’s ecosystem, including fund of funds, VCs, and Family offices.
• Assist in preparing investment memos for each MCC investment.
• Assist in preparing quarterly reports for the MCC Fund.
• Manage portfolio company’s investor and quarterly reports.
• Manage and update MCC’s CRM and internal investment tools.
• Perform various ad-hoc work for portfolio companies and for MCC.
• You will work directly with Ian and the investment team.

Requisites:

• Must hold a European passport
• Must be able to provide a Convention de Stage
• Internship is based in-person in Monaco
• Written and verbal fluency in English

Preferred Qualifications

• Pursuing or completed a master’s degree in a relevant field such as finance, engineering, computer science, or business (MBA, MSc, etc.).
• Previous experience in venture capital, private equity, investment banking, consulting, or similar high-paced environments is preferred.
• Strong interest in technology and entrepreneurship.
• Exceptional analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with strong initiative and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Application Process

The selection process for the Investment Intern role will be as follows:

• CV Screening: We will review all applications and shortlist candidates based on their qualifications and experience.
• First Interview: Shortlisted candidates will have a call focused on general fit questions, as well as an analysis of three assigned companies (decks will be sent beforehand).
• Second Interview: Successful candidates will have a final interview with our General Partner, which will include a deeper discussion on the companies and additional fit questions.
