About Us:
Lichen Ventures is a $5 Million Climate Hard-Tech Venture Capital fund focused on investing in seed-stage, US-based companiesworking at the edge of innovation and impact. We back founders building transformative technologies in Biomanufacturing, Adaptation and Resilience, Industrial Decarbonization, Critical Minerals, and Methane Management. Our focus is on early-stage support, and our mission is to help accelerate the growth of hard climate tech companies faster and smarter.
About the Role:
We’re seeking an ambitious and resourceful intern to join us in a part-time, remote role. You’ll get exposure to both the inner workings of an emerging VC fund and the frontier of climate innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
Back Office Platform Development
- Help build and maintain our Airtable-based infrastructure for tracking early-stage climate startups
- Organize and categorize deal flow, company updates, and key performance indicators (KPIs)
Market Research & Sector Scanning
- Conduct deep research into key sectors (e.g. advanced manufacturing, bio-based materials, Industry 4.0, etc.)
- Identify emerging trends, competitive landscapes, and white space opportunities
- Summarize insights to inform investment theses and internal strategy
Event & Community Design
- Support the planning and coordination of small-scale, mission-aligned events (salons, panels, LP meetups)
- Research potential collaborators, speakers, and themes to foster the Lichen Ventures community
Social Media & Thought Leadership
- Support Lichen’s presence on LinkedIn by drafting posts
- Help shape a content calendar that highlights founder stories, investment themes, and climate tech insights
- Contribute to building the firm’s voice as a thought leader in early-stage climate hard tech
- Research and engage with other thought leaders, communities, and events in the climate venture ecosystem
Fundraising & Investor Relations Support
- Identify and research aligned LPs (family offices, foundations, individuals, and institutional investors) – those that invest in venture capital funds
- Build outreach strategies and maintain investor pipeline data
- Help refine investor collateral and prepare for fundraising events
What We’re Looking For:
- Proficiency with LinkedInfor outreach and research
- Comfort with Airtableor the curiosity to learn quickly
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with a love of deep research
- An eye for detail and ability to present insights clearly (visuals + concise summaries)
- Bonus: experience with project management
- A self-starter who can work autonomously in a remote environment
- A foundational passion for climate innovation
- A curiosity about how the venture world operates
- Optional – Advanced degree in related field – PhD, MBA, or Masters.
