Incite.org Intern
Incite.org, an impact-focused early stage investment and grant-making family office, is adding an Intern to their team. This role is an exciting opportunity for a grad student or early career candidate interested in a career path in social and environmental impact work. The internship provides a hands-on opportunity to learn about venture capital, philanthropy and strategic change making through a systems change lens.
The successful Intern candidate will:
- Content Creation & Communications: Lead content strategy for our climate portfolio companies across multiple channels:
○ Execute our content strategy across various platforms, including blog posts, social media, newsletters, and reports.
○ Develop compelling narratives around our portfolio companies, their innovations, and their market impact.
○ Monitor and analyze communication metrics to assess the effectiveness of strategies and campaigns.
- Events & Community: Partner with the Incite team to develop a community engagement strategy for Incite’s portfolio of 100+ organizations.
○ You will help curate and execute ecosystem events and knowledge sharing opportunities on relevant topics, maintaining relationships with founders, investors, and industry experts in the climate tech space.
○ Work with the Incite Team to help design frameworks to measure and report the ROI/outcomes of community engagements with portfolio companies, key stakeholders, and partners.
- Investment diligence: Support deal flow management and diligence alongside the Incite Team. Conduct qualitative research and data-based analyses to learn about new topics, innovation landscapes, diligence on new funding opportunities.
- Strategic Projects: Take on a wide variety of projects as they arise, from strategic research to networking initiatives.
This is a dynamic role that requires a flexible candidate working part time(hours up for discussion), yet willing to do what it takes to move Incite’s work forward and help its Founders get things done. As with any startup, a strategic mind that can structure unstructured challenges, operate with ambiguity and ask questions will succeed. Our team highly values a willingness to roll one’s sleeves.
Ideally, candidates will have a background that includes:
- Previous internship or work experience in venture capital, startups, or consulting, with demonstrated ability to build initiatives from 0 to 1.
- Proven track record in content creation and social media management. A portfolio of your work is a plus.
- Natural storyteller with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into engaging content for a variety of different audiences.
- Experience or interest in climate, healthcare, or public-interest technology innovation ● A demonstrated ability to work in a self-directed fashion in an ambiguous and fast-paced environment.
- Low-ego, inspiring energy and a passion to learn, ask why and be the resident sponge. ● Strong project management and critical thinking skills, able to prioritize and push team’s performance to be ever-better.
Location: Flexible location, preference for Bay Area. Compensation will be discussed.
