Job Title: Summer Investment Analyst
Founded in 1987, Highland is a venture capital firm focused on putting the entrepreneur first. Highland has 200 exits, 52 IPOs, and 40 unicorns.
The Summer Analyst role is designed for current undergraduate students interested in a career in venture capital. Summer analysts will be given the same responsibility and handle the same workload as a full-time analyst. Prior VC experience is not required.
Key Responsibilities:
Highland’s investor team drive the focus and execution of our company partnerships. They are the first contact and are expected to command subject matter expertise on their focus areas. We intend to develop all investment professionals to be the principal source of talent to grow our firm and brand.
Source and recommend investment opportunities and manage a pipeline that meets the firm’s investment criteria
Conduct introductory calls to develop relationships and build rapport with CEOs
Identify investment themes and conduct industry research to present to Investment Team
Assist team in the full life cycle of our due diligence process such as financial and customer analysis, research on market and competitive landscape, and exposure to other deal structuring/processes.
Desired Qualities/Experience:
Demonstrated interest in entrepreneurship and VC, prior experience in investing, entrepreneurship, or other finance related roles is preferred
Possess basic quantitative and qualitative knowledge and skills
Strong written and verbal communication capabilities
Strong academic performance and involvement and leadership in extracurricular activities
Highly motivated individuals that exhibit strong work ethic and autonomy
Ability to be coachable, learn quickly, and work well as part of a team
Positive attitude, organized, and efficient
All fields of study are welcome
Process and Timeline:
Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis and final decisions will be made before June 1.
Analysts will join Highland in June 2022 in either our Boston or Menlo Park office. Starting date is flexible.
