About the Program
The PledgeLA Venture Capital Fellowship program prepares outstanding graduate students from underrepresented backgrounds for careers in venture capital investing. The program offers fellows:
- 3 months of training in venture capital fundamentals including: VC Financial Modeling, Fund Structure & Economics, Sourcing, Funding Instruments & Cap Tables, and Investment Memos.
- Hands-on experience in the due diligence and investment process
- A full-time, 8-week summer internship at a Los Angeles venture capital firm with a stipend of $10K
- Support with networking and career opportunities in the LA venture ecosystem

Eligibility Requirements
- Be a currently-enrolled graduate student (full or part-time).
- Be based in Southern California, AND/OR have plans to continue your career in Los Angeles post-graduation.
- Demonstrate eligibility to work in the U.S. (required for stipend payment).
- Identify with a background not well-represented in VC (ex: women, Black, Latinx/e, LGBTQ+, low-income, veteran, etc.).
- Demonstrate a serious interest in pursuing a career in venture capital and/or investing.
Attendance Requirements
- Attend and complete all virtual and in-person pre-training dates (Fridays: February – May, 2025).
- Participate in an 8-week, full-time paid summer internship at a Los Angeles firm (June 16 to August 8, 2025).
- Attend cohort summer gatherings (June & August 2025).

Application Deadlines
1. Priority Review Deadline: Candidates with a strong interest are encouraged to apply for our Priority Review deadline of December 15, 2024 at 11:59 PM PT. Submitting by the Priority Review deadline will allow us more time to review your application, but an interview is not guaranteed.
2. Final Deadline: The Final Review deadline for all other applications is January 5, 2025, at 11:59 PM PT.
