THE POSITION

Proven and creative deal makers with background in technology ventures investment and working with early-stage entrepreneurial startups; understands how a world class Corporate Venture Capital team operates at global scale

Aligns the enterprise’s / business units’ strategic gaps in technology and capabilities with a vibrant self-driven pipeline of disruptive, early-stage innovations and new business models that have a strong fit for investment and selectively with future potential for acquisition

Drives a full end to end management of their portfolio with clear goals on commercialization, knowledge transfer and strategy validation – proactively facilitates the ongoing partner/business unit cadence and execution

Builds a strong network within the technology and VC community and equally within the strategic business units’ leadership teams

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactive deal scouting, screening, and sourcing across key investment areas and geographies that are directly aligned with the corporate strategy in accessing disruptive innovations
  • Lead and conduct due diligence (technical / commercial / market) for prospective investments with active engagement from the sponsoring business unit – estimate deal size and exit potential and timing
  • Actively collaborate and support the deal making & decision approval process – act as the partner advocate and identify the critical success factors to facilitate a mutually beneficial deal structure
  • Drive routine reviews with the investment portfolio partners and their business unit sponsors to ensure all mutual plans and commitments are being met or effective mitigation plans are in place – update periodically on the state of select markets and technology themes
  • Build a vibrant ecosystem of partners, co-investors and other influencers – represent Honeywell as an ambassador of our innovation strategy and operating culture & values

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5+ years of relevant experience with a minimum of 3 years in venture capital roles
  • Able to travel extensively as needed, co-location ideally within key Honeywell and tech center hubs (Expect 30%+)
  • Background in Strategic Technology
  • Adept at networking and building new relationships based on proactive research and assessment of common needs and outcomes
  • Proven acumen in assessing investment opportunities, financial modeling, managing transactions and identifying key signals regarding portfolio health and future performance

Preferred

  • Ability to rapidly grasp a new business model, identify strategic capability gaps and understand the challenges in building a scalable business
  • Technology commercialization background from former experiences to leverage
  • Proactive communicator and self-starter able to prioritize and manage complex and dynamic workloads and satisfy multiple internal and external stakeholders at all levels
  • Genuine hunger and passion to co-develop / accelerate new game-changing technologies that have a direct impact to society, environment, business productivity and worker safety
  • Execution bias for action and performance focus essential
  • Master’s Degree – ideally in a technical and business background
  • Ideally with a background sourcing in one or more strategic technology areas
  • Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning modeling and data analytics
  • Smart edge computing, IoT & sensors, cyber-secure networks and wireless connectivity
  • Buildings industry and associated software & services know how
  • Sustainability, decarbonization and energy management
