Job Description
Director, Corporate Venturing leads fintech venture investments and partnerships to drive business expansion, growth, and innovation by working collaboratively with business leaders across the organization. Key leader in building a sustainable corporate venture business to support the innovation agenda and growth objectives for Payments, Card, Consumer Banking, and Operations/Technology/Data and Analytics.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze industry trends, monitor market developments, and define investment themes and theses
- Develop relationships across the venture and entrepreneurial community to develop and source startup opportunities
- Interact with senior leaders on business strategy and product roadmap and synthesize investment priorities and focus areas
- Lead the identification, evaluation, execution, and management of venture investments
- Conduct investment economics, deal structure, and due diligence activities
- Support startup commercialization opportunities – build business case and pursue proof-of-concept
- Monitor financial performance and manage strategic relationships with portfolio companies
Minimum Qualifications
At a minimum, here’s what we need from you:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Project Management or related field
- 8+ years of experience in venture capital, corporate development, or investment banking
- In lieu of a Bachelor’s Degree, 10+ years of experience in venture capital, corporate development, or investment banking
Preferred Qualifications
If we had our say, we’d also look for:
- Master’s Degree in Business Administration
- Management consulting experience
