TO VC: Investment Associate

Location: New York

Summary

TO VC is seeking an Investment Associate to support our investment team. This role sits at the intersection of deep diligence, market analysis, and community engagement. We’re a small, collaborative team driven by intellectual rigor and mission alignment. Associates work closely with partners and are expected to grow quickly into investor roles.

Key Responsibilities

• Source deals
• Conduct quantitative and qualitative diligence on companies, including market sizing, technology evaluation, and competitive landscape analysis
• Support partners in developing investment theses and preparing materials for the Investment Committee
• Engage directly with founders, customers, and domain experts to validate key assumptions and refine go-to-market perspectives
• Track portfolio performance, prepare quarterly LP updates, and help drive insights across the portfolio
• Contribute to firm-building initiatives, including knowledge management, research infrastructure, and internal process improvements
• Represent TO VC at industry conferences, founder events, and ecosystem gatherings to strengthen deal flow and network reach

Qualifications

Must-haves:

• 2+ years of experience in venture capital, consulting, investment banking, or at a startup.
• Exceptional analytical, communication, and networking skills
• Intellectual curiosity across science, engineering, and technology
• Ability to synthesize complex information into clear, actionable insights
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with a small team and high expectations
• High agency and able to operate without much direction
• Moves fast and willing to do what it takes to get the job done

What Success Looks Like

Within 12 months, you will have led diligence on at least three investments and presented directly to the Investment Committee. You’ll have built an independent view on two new focus areas and authored internal memos shaping TO VC’s position on them.
