Timberline Management Company (Timberline) is seeking to hire an associate to assist with managing the company’s investment portfolio.
An associate at Timberline will focus on a range of investments, including venture capital, private equity and controlled portfolio companies. It is expected that they will be able to collect, evaluate and interpret data of companies that Timberline has invested in. The associate will also participate in due diligence for potential investments and interact with founders and management of companies. It is expected that as a member of the Timberline team you will participate in investment committee meetings and meetings regarding the operations of Timberline portfolio companies. The right person is comfortable around numbers and can help support an operating business. The position requires attention to detail, ability to take instruction, positive professional attitude and the ability to work in performance-based environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supporting managers with financial modeling and analysis
- Providing research and analysis for opportunities to drive revenue growth and reduce costs in Timberline’s control companies
- Preparing meeting/presentation materials for Advisory Board meetings under direction of the managers
- Tracking Timberline’s opportunity sourcing activity
- Performing administrative duties related to Timberline
- Assisting with special projects and merger & acquisition activity as directed. Special projects may include medium term assignments to various Timberline portfolio companies where you will be expected to spend a significant portion of your time on site at those companies where you could be reporting to other individuals for purposes of those specific projects.
- Maintaining a prioritized list of the projects you are responsible for, status, and deadlines
Skills Relevant to the Position:
- Expertise with Microsoft Office suite, especially in Excel & Power Point
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Familiarity with accounting
- Familiarity with a programming language, data types, and database structure
- Ability to manage time effectively, set priorities and meet deadlines
- Ability to learn and adapt to a changing environment
