Are you interested in private equity and the blue economy? Redstone, a European private equity firm that follows carefully selected investment strategies, is now looking for an Associate to join its investment team to work in the upcoming Blue Economy Center in Turku. 

Team and job description:

In this role, you will join Redstone’s 30-person organization, where your closest colleague will be a venture capitalist/managing partner. In your role, you will identify, analyze and evaluate new investment opportunities, support portfolio companies and manage funds. You will also participate in the establishment and fundraising of a new fund focused on the blue economy, and support Redstone’s regional venture capital funds and the DEFINE startup accelerator focused on defense technology. 

What kind of expert are we looking for?

We hope that you will approach your tasks with enthusiasm and self-direction, but you are also able to work naturally with different stakeholders. The ideal candidate for the Associate position is someone who enjoys and thrives in a dynamic work environment and who is analytical, numerically accurate and has problem-solving skills. We also value a willingness to learn, and you do not need to be a top professional in the field yet.

The applicant is expected to: 

  • A university degree suitable for the position, for example in a commercial or technical field
  • Previous work experience relevant to the position, e.g. from startups, consulting or an investment company
  • Interest in the blue economy and venture capital investment
  • Excellent MS Office skills, especially Excel and Powerpoint 
  • Good knowledge of Finnish and English 

In addition, the following are considered an advantage:

  • Proficiency in German and Swedish

Practicalities:

In this permanent and full-time position, you will be employed directly by our client company Redstone. The starting date for the position is by agreement. The work in the position will initially take place mainly remotely and later, at the Blue Economy Center in Turku, which is currently still under construction. The job description may also include traveling, for example, to startup events in Finland or team days in Berlin. The salary in the position is initially set at 4000-6000€/month, depending on your experience, and will be negotiated individually for each candidate.
