VC Associate @ Blueprint Ventures in Singapore

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Associate or Principal to join our dynamic investment team. You will play a critical role in sourcing, evaluating, and executing investment opportunities within Blueprint Ventures. You will collaborate closely with the Managing Partner, Investment Associates, and other team members to identify and support high-potential startups and drive portfolio growth. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong background in venture capital, a deep understanding of the new consumer in Southeast Asia, and a passion for identifying and building businesses solving real problems and needs.

Responsibilities:

1) Deal Sourcing and Evaluation:

a. Proactively identify, source, and evaluate investment opportunities through various channels, including networking events, industry conferences, referrals, and online platforms.

b. Conduct thorough due diligence on potential investments, identify consumer insights, analyze market trends, competitive landscapes, financials, business models, and growth potential.

c. Present investment recommendations and assessments to the investment team, highlighting key opportunities and risks.

2) Investment Execution:

a. Work closely with the Managing Partner to structure investment terms, including equity ownership, valuation, and deal structure.

b. Prepare investment memos and presentations to support investment decision-making processes.

c. Assist in legal and financial documentation, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.

d. Support portfolio companies during the investment lifecycle, providing strategic guidance, and leveraging networks to drive growth and value creation.

3) Relationship Management:

a. Build and maintain relationships with entrepreneurs, industry experts, co-investors, and other stakeholders to enhance deal flow and access to high-quality investment opportunities.

b. Represent the fund at industry events, conferences, and forums to increase visibility and establish a strong presence within the startup ecosystem.

c. Support portfolio company founders and management teams, providing mentorship, strategic advice, and operational support as needed.

4) Market Research and Analysis:

a. Stay up-to-date with market trends, emerging technologies, consumer sentiment and industry developments to identify investment themes and opportunities aligned with the fund’s investment thesis.

b. Conduct in-depth market research and competitive analysis to evaluate market potential and assess the viability of potential investments.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, economics, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.

· Minimum of 5 years of experience in venture capital, private equity, investment banking, or a similar role, with a proven track record of successful investments.

· Strong knowledge of startup ecosystems, emerging technologies, and industry trends.

· Exceptional analytical and financial modeling skills, with the ability to evaluate investment opportunities and perform due diligence effectively.

· Demonstrated ability to lead investment transactions and negotiate investment terms.

· Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas and investment recommendations to stakeholders.

· Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for identifying and supporting innovative startups.

· Strong network and relationships within the startup and venture capital community.

· Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work effectively both independently and within a team.
