We are hiring an Associate to join our investment team in San Francisco. We are open to both summer and full-time candidates.
At Blue Bear, we invest in AI and data-centric companies shaping the future of energy, infrastructure, industrial systems, and critical infrastructure. While experience or interest in energy is valuable, we are especially excited by candidates who bring perspectives from adjacent industries such as physical AI, industrial technology, manufacturing, defense, logistics, computing infrastructure, or space.
This role offers exposure across the full investment lifecycle — from sourcing and diligence to execution and portfolio support — working closely with founders building highly technical companies operating in complex real-world environments.
We are looking for candidates who:
• Have 3–6 years of professional experience, including experience in venture capital, private equity, investment banking, consulting, startups, or operating roles
• Are deeply curious about emerging technologies and operational systems
• Are strong analytical thinkers with high ownership
• Are comfortable navigating financial modeling and business topics
• Embrace AI-native workflows and modern tooling, while being capable doing the work without them
• Are interested in the intersection of software and the physical world
We care deeply about intellectual curiosity, judgment, communication skills, and the ability to learn quickly in ambiguous environments.
Location: San Francisco, with expected travel to Blue Bear offices in Jackson, WY and Los Angeles.
