About Ada Ventures

Ada Ventures is an inclusive pre-seed venture capital firm. We find and fund the Ada Lovelaces of today, backing European founders building businesses for a better human future. Ada invests in the best, not just the best connected, across themes of Climate Equity, Economic Empowerment, and Healthy Ageing. You can read more about our theses here.

In the 5 years since we launched, we have invested in fast growing and highly impactful companies like Bubble, ESTHER and Mat Nex.

We have a management company (Ada Partners LLP) and manage four funds (including Ada Ventures I LP, Ada Ventures II LP) along with four other fund-related entities. Our investors include some of the biggest names in global tech including the founders of Wise and Supercell, funds including Atomico and Molten, and University Endowments and Fund of Funds.

The Role

We are looking for an incredibly diligent, energetic, and high-EQ individual to work closely with Ada’s Founding Partners, Check Warner and Matt Penneycard, as well as other senior members of the team.

We have an entrepreneurial culture and our mindset is that of a fast-growth startup – we move at pace and are constantly learning. This is not an investing role, however you can expect a high degree of responsibility from day 1, contributing directly to a range of activities within Ada, including:

Community Management You’ll be responsible for managing our scout and super-scout community, by running events and conference calls, tracking scout dealflow, and ensuring we’re seeing the best companies in our extended network

CRM & Dealflow Management While not directly responsible for sourcing deals, you’ll ensure we’re keeping our data organised and be responsible for flagging up the most interesting companies to our investment team.

Leadership Support You’ll help to prepare speaking materials, Ada board packs, and pitch in on travel, writing, team meetings and workshops.

Events You’ll work closely with our Head of Portfolio & Brand, Diarra Smith, taking the lead on arranging dinners and breakfast events for portfolio company founders and for Ada’s Limited Partners.

Fundraising & Investor Relations You’ll work closely with the team on producing materials for our Fund III fundraise, including decks and slide creation, DD materials, DDQs, and data requests.

Additional You may be asked to attend events and travel on behalf of Ada Ventures You would also have access to the Scouts Deal as part of your role – for more details, see here.

This role is designed to maximise learning opportunities for the successful candidate, with a view that after 24 months you’ll move on to a different role outside of Ada Ventures.

Depending on your interests and skillset, this could include joining one of our incredible portfolio companies, founding your own business, or moving on to another role within the world of startups & venture capital.

Candidate Profile

You might be the ideal candidate for this role if you demonstrate the following, assessed through interview, referencing, and prior experiences (be it educational, professional, or even just side-projects & hobbies):

  • More “we” than “I”, prizing integrity and fairness, with a strong fit with Ada’s values
  • Data driven, analytical and highly numerate, with strong Excel skills
  • Positive, entrepreneurial and self-starting
  • Extreme & consistent attention to detail, with an eye for design
  • A student of VC & startups, with an insatiable desire for learning
  • A natural relationship builder, confident leading discussions

Nice to Have:

  • Knowledge of the Venture Capital ecosystem
  • Technical skills – coding ability / building products

Please note, we are unable to sponsor visas at this time.

Interview Process & Next Steps

At Ada, we especially believe that incredible talent can come from anywhere, so we encourage you to apply even if you don’t think you tick every box. Similarly, we believe opportunity should not be restricted to only the best connected; every applicant will need to go through the same process, regardless of any warm introductions or existing connections to Ada. To that end, and to ensure a fair process, please refrain from reaching out to the Ada Team to discuss the role and your candidacy.

Please note, given we are a small team, we’re unable to provide feedback to every applicant.

  • Submit an application (applications closed 7th March)
  • Initial call with Ben Norton (Venture Partner, Talent)
  • Interview with Check Warner (Co-Founding Partner)
  • Case Study
  • Interview with Matt Penneycard (Co-Founding Partner)
  • Referencing
  • Offer & Start!

For shortlisted candidates, we will be in touch to discuss any reasonable accommodations required in the process.
