Seedcamp
We are Seedcamp, Europe’s Seed Fund. Our team identify, invest and proactively support world-class founders at the very early stages of attacking global markets with disruptive technology.
The Seedcamp Nation now includes over 500 startups building businesses that change the way people live, interact and work. Our portfolio includes the likes of Wise, Revolut, Sorare, Pleo, UiPath, Grover, and Synthesia.
Seedcamp is its own fully-fledged network economy where our 1,000+ founders, experts, and their teams collaborate with, sell to, and learn from one another. We believe this unique network gives our founders the edge when it comes to accessing the best talent, building the strongest commercial traction and raising future rounds of funding.
🎯 About the role
Our Visiting Analyst position is a full-time, six month placement within the investment team here at Seedcamp. We’re looking for an ambitious and hard working team member who is passionate about the European startup scene.
You will be joining our 7 person investment team, gaining unparalleled access into the world of early-stage investing. Our team operates with a very fast investment cycle and as a result, you will have the opportunity to get exposed to all aspects of early-stage investing.
📌 Primary responsibilities
- Supporting our investment process administratively and, where appropriate, with research, analysis or even an event on a particular sector, technology or business.
- Reviewing inbound investment opportunities through our platform, presenting relevant companies to the wider investment team.
- Exploring new ways to source deals externally, using our ever-growing dataset and leveraging the power of the Seedcamp network.
- Assisting with collation, cleaning, and presentation of data related to investments and the portfolio.
- Identifying individual founder needs and connecting them with relevant investors and mentors from our network.
🏆 Your skills
The best talent can come from all walks of life meaning that we’re not looking for any specific background or experience. We have an incredibly diverse team, bringing unique ways of identifying problems and developing innovative solutions. Whilst we’re expecting to speak with a wide range of candidates, we’ll ultimately be looking for someone who can demonstrate some of the following traits:
- You thrive in a fast-paced environment. There are always 100 things happening at once as we support our founders, source new deals and continually drive progress across the platform.
- You are proactive. We act like owners and it’s up to all of us to pick up loose ends, solve problems as we see them and go above and beyond.
- You love building meaningful and long lasting relationships. Venture is a service business and the ability to build trust and forge bonds with founders and build a network of investors matters a lot.
- You have an incredible attention to detail. Our job revolves around soft skills, but investment memos, legal processes and data-driven activities are also crucial.
- You are passionate about early stage tech startups and potentially even built your own. Endless curiosity about software enables us to be first to new trends and challenge the status-quo.
- You’re low ego and willing to get stuck in. At Seedcamp, credit is shared equally and no task is too small.
