Role Overview
We are seeking a Venture Capital Analyst to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of work experience, preferably with technical expertise, and hold an MBA or equivalent graduate degree. Venture capital or investment experience is highly desirable. This role requires a sharp, analytical thinker with a passion for sustainability, innovation, and early-stage investing.
Key Responsibilities
Deal Sourcing & Network Building
- Build and maintain relationships with entrepreneurs, co-investors, accelerators, and industry leaders to source high-potential startups and stay ahead of market trends.
- Represent NVP at climate tech conferences, pitch events, and academic forums to expand our network and presence.
Market & Sector Expertise
- Stay informed about trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory developments in climate tech and decarbonization.
- Conduct deep-dive market research, competitive analysis, and technology assessments.
Investment Research & Diligence
- Analyze business models, financial projections, and technical feasibility of prospective portfolio companies.
- Perform due diligence, including market sizing, competitive analysis, and assessment of management teams.
- Develop deal sheets, and detailed investment memos and present findings to the investment committee.
Portfolio Support
- Work closely with portfolio companies to provide strategic, operational, and financial support.
- Track portfolio performance, prepare reports, and identify follow-on investment opportunities.
Firm Operations & Thought Leadership
- Support fundraising efforts, including preparing materials.
- Represent Nomadic Venture Partners in panels, webinars, and public forums.
- Contribute to internal processes and systems for portfolio management and reporting.
Qualifications
- 4+ years of relevant work experience, with a background in venture capital, private equity, consulting, or investment banking is preferred.
- A technical degree with strong quantitative skills, such as an MBA or equivalent advanced degree, is preferred.
- A deep understanding of early-stage investing and startup ecosystems is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills, including experience with financial modeling and data analysis.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; experience preparing investment memos and presentations.
- Passion for sustainability, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
- Proficiency with office software tools like Excel, CRM systems, and data visualization platforms.
