  • Conduct thorough research and analysis of macro market trends, industry landscapes, and technology overviews to support the investment team’s decision-making process. You’ll help guide the team in what themes we should be spending our time in to find the most innovative companies!
  • Assist in research-driven deal sourcing by evaluating potential investment opportunities and performing comprehensive due diligence, including assessing the technology stack, intellectual property, and competitive landscape of startups.
  • Collaborate with the investment team to conduct comparables analysis and assess the exit potential of prospective investments.
  • Profile and support the assessment of the management teams of potential investments, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of their capabilities.
  • Engage with and interview third-party advisers and experts to gather external perspectives on market trends and specific investment opportunities.
  • Support the investment team in managing and organising incoming deal-flow, inputting information into our system, and prioritising opportunities for review.

Job Requirements

  • Completed a Master’s or PhD degree in a quantitative or scientific subject such as finance, data analysis, computer science, life science/biology; candidates straight out of an advanced degree program, with no prior work experience, will be considered.
  • Alternatively, hold an undergraduate or postgraduate degree in a quantitative subject and showcase 1-2 years of professional experience in a research-oriented role, such as within a bank, specialist firm, consulting firm, or a similar environment that emphasises research and analysis.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to synthesise complex information and draw meaningful insights from large quantitative and qualitative datasets.
  • Highly proficient in using Excel and PowerPoint to organise and present research findings effectively.
  • Display a keen attention to detail, a thirst for continuous learning, and the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Comfortable working in an environment with ambiguity
  • Candidates with a technical leaning, knowledge of third-party tooling, APIs, and experience leveraging models are particularly encouraged to highlight this in their CV
