Overview: Analyst / Senior Analyst, Venture Investing, Constellation Technology Ventures
Constellation Technology Ventures (CTV) is the venture capital arm of Constellation Energy. CTV is responsible for deploying venture capital into energy and energy transition related technologies on behalf of Constellation Energy. Constellation Technology Ventures aims to invest in disruptive, scalable technologies and start-ups that are most likely to drive the next wave of the energy transition towards decarbonization.
- Leads research and investment thesis development, to include conducting industry and sector specific research, landscape analysis, and developing investment thesis to help guide CTV’s investment strategy. [20%]
- Investment sourcing and evaluation including building and managing sourcing channels, deal flow, and prioritizing transaction pipeline. [15%]
- Managing diligence processes, developing financial models, supporting valuation efforts, and preparing investment documents to support all phases of the investment process. [15%]
- Oversee the strategic and operational management of portfolio companies including coordinating with the Constellation’s commercialization team as appropriate. [15%]
- Developing and managing relationships with venture firms, incubators, and accelerators to identify compelling investment opportunities. [10%]
- Building and improving internal systems and processes including fund reporting, developing Investment Committee materials, CRM management and other ad-hoc analysis. [15%]
- Building and managing an internal network to facilitate diligence efforts. Direct partnership with the creation of strategic value to Constellation by engaging with the internal Constellation network to deploy portfolio company technologies. [10%]
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Four-year degree in a technical field, finance, or a related discipline. Industry relevant technical or financial backgrounds preferred
- Master’s degree preferred for Senior Analyst position.
- Experience:
- Preferred 2-5 years of experience in an early-stage venture capital fund investing in energy related companies and technologies or,
- Investment/asset management, investment banking, strategy consulting or,
- relevant full-time investing or commercial experience in the energy industry
- Demonstrated technical and market research, financial modeling, presentation-building, and communication skills with ability to communicate complex data effectively
- Strong analytical, strategic, and critical thinking skills
- High EQ and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
- Ability to work in an uncertain business environment and manage several activity streams with conflicting priorities
- Purpose driven with a deep intellectual interest in energy transition and mitigating the impact of climate change.
