As we expand our portfolio and investor base, we are seeking motivated professionals to join our Capital Raise division and help fuel our growth journey.
Role Overview
The Investment Analyst – Capital Raise will be instrumental in supporting fundraising efforts for 16vc and our portfolio companies. This position offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of venture capital and capital markets, contributing to the firm’s growth strategy while helping innovative startups secure funding.
We are looking to fill this position immediately, though we can accommodate holiday leave for Christmas and New Year if needed.
Key Responsibilities
Fundraising & Capital Raise Support
- Assist in fundraising efforts for 16vc by preparing marketing materials, including Fund 1 presentations, financial performance reports, and investor pitches.
- Identify and engage with potential investors, including Limited Partners (LPs), family offices, and institutional investors.
- Track and manage investor relationships, ensuring timely follow-ups and communication.
- Collaborate with leadership to refine fundraising strategies and meet Fund 1’s $50M target
Portfolio Capital Raise
- Partner with portfolio companies to develop fundraising strategies and materials, including pitch decks and financial models.
- Research and connect with venture capital firms, private equity groups, and other funding sources for follow-on investment rounds.
- Support term sheet negotiations and provide strategic advice to portfolio founders during funding discussions.
Investment Analysis
- Conduct due diligence on potential investment opportunities, including financial modeling, market research, and competitive analysis.
- Provide detailed reports and recommendations to partners regarding potential deals.
- Stay informed about market trends and funding landscapes relevant to 16vc’s focus areas.
Reporting & Analytics
- Create regular updates for internal stakeholders and external investors on the performance of Fund 1 and portfolio companies.
- Analyze key metrics to track fundraising progress and identify areas for improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field; MBA or CFA is a plus.
- 2–4 years of experience in venture capital, private equity, investment banking, or fundraising roles.
- Strong proficiency in financial modeling, capital structuring, and valuation techniques.
- Knowledge of venture capital ecosystems and fundraising strategies.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for investor relations.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in SaaS, fintech, healthcare, or other tech-focused industries.
- Familiarity with fundraising tools, CRMs, and data visualization platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to manage relationships with high-net-worth individuals and institutional investors.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
