We are expanding our team and seeking a dynamic Senior Investment Associate to contribute to our continued success.
Job Description
As a Senior Investment Associate at Shannon Life Sciences, you will play a crucial role in supporting the team with identifying, evaluating, and executing investments. The ideal candidate will hold a Ph.D. or M.D., ideally in neuroscience or neurology, and possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in venture capital, private equity, or a related field. Bilingual candidates who can speak either Chinese or Japanese are strongly encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities:
-Help identify and generate US investment opportunities on behalf of the Shannon Life Sciences team.
-Support in-depth research and due diligence on potential investment opportunities in the pharmaceutical, biotech, and related healthcare/life sciences industries.
– Analyze financial statements, market trends, and competitive landscapes to assess the viability and potential return on investment for prospective companies.
– Work closely with the team to develop and present investment recommendations to the Investment Committee.
– Assist in monitoring and managing a portfolio of investments and providing ongoing support to portfolio companies.
– Build and maintain strong relationships with entrepreneurs, industry experts, and other key stakeholders within the life sciences community.
– Frequent travel within the United States to attend industry conferences, meet with entrepreneurs, and conduct on-site due diligence.
Qualifications:
– Minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience within venture capital, private equity, BD&L, or a top-tier consulting firm with a focus on biotech or pharmaceutical investments.
– Undergraduate from a “top-tier” university and a Ph.D. or M.D., ideally in neurosciences or neurology.
– Strong understanding of pharmaceutical, biotech, and related industries.
– Self-starter with a proven ability to work independently in an unstructured environment and drive projects to completion.
– Verbal and written communication and presentation skills, coupled with presence and self-confidence to interface with key stakeholders.
– Superior problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and strategically.
-Bilingual proficiency in English and either Chinese or Japanese is highly desirable.
