JOB DESCRIPTION

As Arizona’s largest Venture Capital Fund, this provides a rare opportunity to become an early and integral part of a growing venture group. The Senior Associate presents a “jack-of-all-trades” opportunity with a heavy emphasis on operational and analytical contributions. The associate will focus on early stage investing in startups primarily located in Arizona within a wide collective of technology industries.

Primary responsibilities, in order of expected time allotment, will include:

  • Modeling projected operating performance, creating various spreadsheets specific to the analysis of a company’s historical performance, valuation analysis, and peer comparisons
  • Spreading and analyzing financial statements for portfolio companies and preparing operating reports
  • Involvement in all aspects of due diligence on new investments (business analysis, industry thesis, competitive landscape, business/pricing model, and financial modeling / deal structuring)
  • Documentation: summarize call notes, enter deals into CRM
  • Special projects – database management and other non-investment related projects; maintenance of partnership accounting systems and other administrative duties.
  • Deal sourcing through community events and founder meetings.
  • Website/Social Media Updates
  • Working in a strategic capacity with invisionAZ existing portfolio companies as needed
  • Assist in managing the workflow on future hires and interns

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates should have 2-5 years of total prior work experience including at a minimum either of:

  • Two years of work experience at a top-tier investment bank or strategy consulting firm, or
  • Two years of full-time work experience at a venture capital or growth equity firm, or
  • Two years of full-time work experience in a strategy or corporate development role at a major enterprise software, retail-tech, or retail industry (including brands) company, or
  • Two years of unique work experience that demonstrates the drive, skills and character required to be successful in a demanding, entrepreneurial, and dynamic work environment.
  • Undergraduate degree from a top-tier institution, and a demonstrated track record of both academic and professional success.
  • Master’s degree preferred but not required. We take pride in our Arizona universities!
