Role Description

Sound Ventures is looking for a Senior Accountant to be an integral part of the finance and operations team. Reporting to the CFO, this role will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

• Manage all aspects of fund accounting, financial reporting, year-end audit process, tax compliance, capital calls, and distributions.
• Supervise key relationships with auditors, tax advisors, and fund administrators
• Manage treasury functions including monitoring cash balances, managing reserves, and wire transfers.
• Monitor and track portfolio performance to assist with valuations
• Facilitate LP related communications, including fundraising and diligence requests
• Management company accounting, budgeting, and forecasting along with implementing operational initiatives
• Assist with ad hoc projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
• CPA license preferred, but not required
• 3+ years of total experience, with 2+ years of relevant experience in venture capital or private equity preferred
• Excels in a fast-paced environment while being highly meticulous and organized
• Proactive; self-motivated
• Process oriented; constantly thinking about ways to improve
• Eager to take ownership of projects and learn
• High integrity and unquestioned ethics
