Key Responsibilities: As the RTX Ventures Portfolio Development leader, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative organizations and diverse people around the world. This position will report to the President and Managing Director, RTX Ventures, and will work collaboratively with the entire RTX Ventures team to support the full life cycle and success of our portfolio. This position will be responsible for:

  • Building and cultivating relationships in our portfolio, and in the start-up technology and venture capital communities to identify opportunities for collaboration and partnership with our business units and research centers.
  • Engaging in the investment process, as needed, to support assessment and development of a post-investment strategic value creation plan for each investment.
  • Developing and implementing best practices for project management, tracking, and influencing partnership related projects to optimize chances of success and maximize value creation from our investment portfolio.
  • Building, managing, and influencing a high value pipeline of partnership opportunities, delivering quantifiable results that will be tracked and presented regularly to the ventures steering committee and senior leadership.
  • Developing creative and highly tailored deal structures and processes that result in optimal solutions for unique project objectives.
  • Establishing and maintaining productive working relationships with relevant corporate and business unit functions at RTX (Technology, Strategy, Finance, Legal, Digital) who might collaborate on and contribute to key venture investments and partnerships.
  • Supporting portfolio management by representing RTX Ventures on several board or board observer seats
  • Managing and continuously developing a useful playbook of best practices, services and management tools that RTX Ventures can provide to portfolio companies to support their successful growth and management needs.

Basic qualifications:The successful candidate will have a combination of the following:

  • At least four (4) years of early/growth-stage business, product and/or project management experience.
  • At least four (4) years of entrepreneurial, finance, strategy, consulting, investment banking and/or business development experience
  • Demonstrated experience driving growth, leveraging best practices in business and project management.
  • Demonstrated leadership with organizational presence, authority & responsibility to set priorities, track & drive execution.
  • Proven ability to listen, negotiate, influence, and persuade others.
  • Previous experience presenting to senior leadership
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

Preferred qualifications:

  • Significant transactional experience– VC, M&A, joint ventures, minority investments, partnerships, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of finance and various valuation techniques
  • Ability to quickly comprehend new technologies and assess compatibility with existing business capabilities
  • Exceptional analytical & problem-solving skills
  • Highly collaborative working style, strong interpersonal and relationship building capabilities
  • Experience in aerospace and defense
  • Background or experience in science, technology, engineering domains

Education & Experience: Typically requires a university degree or equivalent experience and minimum 14 years prior relevant experience or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 12 years experience.MBA and/or advanced technology degree preferred.

Location:This role is remote. Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home).
