Role Overview

We are seeking a Investor Relationship Manager to join our team. This role is crucial for expanding our investor base, sourcing quality deals, enhancing our brand presence, and strengthening relationships with key stakeholders in the investment ecosystem.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years’ experience in business development within the VC/PE industry
  • Proven track record of success in past roles and experiences
  • Fluency in English required; proficiency in Chinese is a plus
  • Strong understanding of venture capital, private equity, or related fields
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to build and maintain high-level relationships
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work harmoniously and effectively with others

Key Responsibilities

1. Fundraising

  • Identify and engage with potential investors, particularly high net worth individuals
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in the investment community
  • Prepare and present compelling investment pitches and materials
  • Support fundraising campaigns and investor outreach initiatives

2. Deal Sourcing

  • Build and nurture relationships with private company stockholders, including employees, executives, and early investors
  • Identify and evaluate potential investment opportunities in private companies
  • Negotiate and structure deals for secondary stock purchases

3. Marketing and Brand Development

  • Execute lead generation and prospect nurturing strategies
  • Grow podcast subscriber base and other content marketing initiatives
  • Develop and refine pitch decks and other marketing materials
  • Implement strategies to enhance the firm’s visibility and reputation in the VC ecosystem
  • Contribute to content creation for the firm’s digital platforms

4. Investor Events and Relationship Building

  • Organize and execute investor events such as: New Year’s gatherings (lunches or dinners), Outings or bonding events (golf tournaments, wine tastings, cocktail events), Professional seminars or workshops on relevant topics (market trends, industry insights)
  • Ensure events foster strong relationships with existing investors and attract new ones
  • Align event strategy with the firm’s overall business objectives

Additional Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with internal teams to align business development efforts with overall firm strategy
  • Develop and maintain a robust network within the startup and VC community
  • Participate in industry events and conferences to represent the firm
  • Support ad-hoc projects as needed to advance the firm’s goals
